Art of Living Yoga: Tree Posture (Vrikshasana)

  1. VrikshasanaStand straight with feet together and arms alongside the body.
  2. Shift your weight onto the right foot.
  3. Bring the left foot to the top of inner right thigh.
  4. Bring the palms together near the chest in the prayer (namaste) position.
  5. Keeping the palms together, lift your arms up toward the ceiling.
  6. Balance in this posture by focusing your eyes on a fixed point in front of you.
  7. Hold. Keep the shoulders pushing down and the arms touching the ears. The back should be straight.
  8. Breathing out, bring the arms and left leg down.
  9. Repeat with the other leg.

  • Strengthens the legs
  • Tones the legs, arms and shoulder muscles
